Bachelor's degree in Employee Relations, Human Resources, or related field required.
Four years of professional human resource administration, including two years in employee relations preferred OR it's equivalent through training, education, and other experience.
Employee relations managers are responsible for facilitating employee relations and resolving human resource issues on behalf of a company.
What will you daily
Trains and oversees the work of assigned staff.
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Analyzes information and data necessary to define and discern cost and policy implications of negotiations and disputes. This may include management and union proposals, pay scales and wages, benefits, working conditions, and other mitigating circumstances.
Advises and trains managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances. Develops further training as needed.
Interpersonal skills – the employee relations manager often plays the role of counselor, mediator, and connector between the workforce and management, so strong interpersonal skills are essential to identify the needs of employees and management.
Problem-solving skills – it’s up to the employee relations manager to devise solutions to issues that arise in the workplace.
Negotiation – employee relations managers present information and bargain with managers and employees to reach contract terms that please both sides.
Communication skills – healthy employee relations depend on the flow of information through the company. The ability to listen and understand people’s concerns is important for this position, as is the ability to provide answers to complex workplace questions.
Analytical skills – as the link between employees and managers, employee relations managers need strong analytical skills to assess situations and make accurate observations in the workplace.
Where will you work
They mostly work in office setup, working normal office hours.
Sometimes can work overtime. The can also work at home or private places as they not require a whole setup area.
